Rohde & Schwarz & LITEON Showcase 5G Femtocell Testing at MWC 2026

Date:

Rohde & Schwarz has partnered with LITEON to demonstrate a highly optimized, production-ready test setup for multi-device 5G testing. Debuting at MWC Barcelona 2026, the showcase will feature the advanced PVT360A vector performance tester from Rohde & Schwarz simultaneously characterizing four of LITEON’s new FlexFi 5G femtocells.

This collaboration highlights the immense adaptability of the PVT360A platform, proving that high-throughput, comprehensive 5G validation can be achieved without sacrificing valuable factory floor space.

The Power Behind the PVT360A Vector Performance Tester

Designed with a minimal physical footprint but maximum processing capability, the PVT360A is a comprehensive, single-box solution for non-signaling 5G NR FR1 and LTE small cell testing. It bridges the gap between the design verification stage and mass production.

The system operates as both a vector signal generator (VSG) and a vector signal analyzer (VSA). When paired with the R&S VSE Vector Signal Explorer software, it delivers highly reliable timing verification and comprehensive 5G NR downlink and uplink signal analysis. Key features that accelerate production include:

  • An innovative 2×8 port architecture for massive connectivity.
  • Proprietary Smart Channel technology for dynamic resource allocation.
  • Support for advanced multi-component carrier testing.
  • Highly accurate MIMO measurements via optional dual signal generators and analyzers.

Boosting Production Speed by 50%

By integrating the PVT360A into its manufacturing lines, LITEON has successfully automated its calibration and verification processes for the new FlexFi 5G femtocell.

Leveraging the tester’s Smart Channel technology, LITEON can now test four 5G femtocells simultaneously. This upgrade has resulted in a massive 50% increase in overall testing speed, allowing the manufacturer to drastically scale production throughput while maintaining strict product consistency and quality control.
