Informa Markets Announces PALM Expo Delhi: A Strategic Leap for North India’s Pro AV Ecosystem

Date:

The professional audio-visual landscape in India is set for a massive regional boost. Informa Markets in India has officially announced the launch of PALM Expo Delhi, marking a highly anticipated expansion into North India’s booming Pro AV sector.

Following the legacy of PALM Expo Mumbai—India’s definitive trade platform for professional AV and lighting—the inaugural Delhi edition is scheduled to take place from January 7 to 9, 2027, at the prestigious Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

The launch was unveiled during an exclusive, high-profile networking evening in the capital, bringing together industry CEOs, key stakeholders, and innovators. This premier B2B expo is projected to host 70 to 100 curated exhibitors and attract between 5,000 and 7,000 qualified industry professionals, establishing a highly focused environment for strategic partnerships.

Why North India? The Market Fundamentals

The decision to expand into Delhi is backed by undeniable market data. Currently, North India drives a staggering 40% to 45% of the nation’s total AV hardware market. The Delhi NCR region has rapidly evolved into a primary hub for large-scale corporate, government, and institutional deployments, alongside a massive events and entertainment industry.

Supported by heavy investments in digital infrastructure and a dense network of corporate headquarters and professional venues, the region offers unparalleled access to high-value decision-makers across B2B and B2G segments.

Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director of Informa Markets in India, highlighted the economic scale driving this move:

“PALM Delhi is a strategic response to the scale and maturity that North India’s Pro Audio and Lighting ecosystem has achieved. With the professional audio market valued between USD 750 and 850 million and the lighting industry approaching USD 2 billion, growing at over 11% annually, the region represents one of the most dynamic growth corridors in the country.”

Mudras further noted that premium audio adoption in North India is 25% higher than the national average, making it a critical focal point for the industry’s transformation.

With 23 years of industry trust behind it, PALM Expo Delhi is tailoring its offerings to meet the specific demands of the northern market.

Ramesh Chetwani, Project Director at Informa Markets in India, explained that the Delhi edition will heavily emphasize Home Audio and Advanced Display Technologies. “With Delhi’s world-class exhibition infrastructure and outdoor demonstration areas, we aim to create a definitive platform for the region while continuing to drive innovation,” he stated.

Key features of the upcoming 2027 exhibition include:

  • Outdoor Line Array Demonstrations: Utilizing the expansive open-air infrastructure at Bharat Mandapam for real-world, high-fidelity audio testing.
  • Global and Local Representation: The floor will feature an estimated 80% international brands showcased via Indian distributors, alongside 20% domestic manufacturers championing ‘Make in India’ solutions.
  • Four Specialized Tech Pillars: The event will be categorized into Pro Audio Solutions, Home Audio & High-End Speaker Systems, Advanced Display & Visual Technologies, and Entertainment & Project Lighting Solutions.

The exhibition floor will also spotlight emerging megatrends, including AI-powered audio management, spatial and immersive AV experiences, seamless integrated AV environments, and the rising demand for eco-friendly, energy-efficient tech.

Industry Leaders Welcome the Expansion

The announcement has been met with strong enthusiasm from major players across the AV ecosystem, who view Delhi as an entirely distinct but equally vital market compared to Mumbai.

Rishubh Nayar, Sales Director at Christie, emphasized the region’s technical sophistication: “North India continues to set new benchmarks in the scale and technical sophistication of projects. In this context, PALM Expo Delhi offers a timely industry platform for technology providers, integrators, and decision-makers to explore new solutions.”

Arun Kumar, Business Manager (Asia & Middle East) at Genelec Oy, pointed out shifting consumer behaviors: “India’s AV industry has seen strong post-pandemic growth, with customers increasingly shifting towards solution-driven buying. The launch of PALM Expo Delhi reflects this momentum.”

Rhythm Arora, CEO of Qubix Technologies, perfectly summarized the strategic geography: “Mumbai remains the pulse of India’s entertainment industry… while Delhi serves as the country’s cultural and policy capital with influential institutional and diplomatic networks. Launching PALM Expo in Delhi is a strategic move, placing the platform within reach of nearly two-thirds of India’s population.”

As the countdown to January 2027 begins, PALM Expo Delhi is already positioning itself as the premier annual destination for Pro AV innovation in North India.
